At Rolling Smoke Diesel Repair, we understand that tires on a heavy-duty diesel semi truck aren't just rubber, they're the only thing between your truck, your cargo, and the road. The right tires, properly maintained, mean safety, fuel efficiency, and fewer unexpected stops. The wrong tires, or tires that are worn, improperly inflated, or out of balance, mean blowouts, uneven wear, handling problems, and real danger at highway speeds with a loaded trailer behind you. We offer comprehensive commercial truck tire sales, installation, and service to keep your rig rolling safely and efficiently.

Commercial Truck Tire Sales

We carry a wide selection of commercial truck tires from proven brands built for the demands of heavy-duty applications. Whether you need steer tires, drive tires, trailer tires, or specialty tires for specific routes and conditions, our team can help you find the right tire for your truck, your load, and the roads you run. We stock options suited for long-haul highway operation, regional and local delivery, off-highway and construction applications, and severe weather conditions. Getting the right tire spec for your specific application matters the wrong tire in the wrong position costs you money in fuel, wear, and shortened service life.

Tire Installation:

Proper commercial tire installation isn't something to cut corners on. We mount and install commercial truck tires using the correct equipment and procedures for heavy-duty applications, including proper torque specs on all wheel hardware. Every installation includes inflation to the correct pressure for your load rating and a verification that the tire is seated correctly on the rim, because an improperly seated commercial tire is a serious safety hazard.

Tire Rotation

On a semi truck, tire position has a significant impact on wear rate and wear pattern. Drive axle tires, steer tires, and trailer tires all wear differently and benefit from regular rotation and position changes. We perform commercial tire rotations on schedule to extend tire life, promote even tread wear across all positions, and help you get the maximum mileage out of your tire investment.

Tire Balancing

An out-of-balance commercial truck tire causes vibration, accelerated tread wear, and driver fatigue on long hauls. It also puts unnecessary stress on wheel bearings, suspension components, and steering linkage. We balance commercial truck tires properly to eliminate vibration and protect the components that depend on smooth wheel rotation.

Tire Repair

Road debris is unavoidable, and a nail or puncture in a commercial tire doesn't always mean an immediate replacement. We perform industry-standard commercial tire repairs on repairable damage, getting you back on the road quickly without the cost of a full tire replacement when the damage qualifies for a proper repair.

Wheel Alignment
Alignment on a heavy-duty truck is critical, and more complex than a passenger vehicle alignment. Misaligned steer axles destroy tires rapidly and cause the truck to wander or pull, increasing driver fatigue and fuel consumption. We perform commercial truck wheel alignment to manufacturer specifications, verifying axle alignment across steer, drive, and trailer axles to ensure your truck tracks straight, your tires wear evenly, and your fuel economy stays where it should be.

Are your tires safe? Let our team make sure.

On a commercial truck, a tire failure isn't just a flat, it's a potential blowout at highway speed with tens of thousands of pounds of cargo behind you. Staying on top of tire condition is one of the most important safety practices in trucking. Here's what to monitor:

Tread Depth:

Commercial truck tires have specific minimum tread depth requirements for legal operation and safety. Steer tires require a minimum of 4/32" tread depth, while drive and trailer tires require a minimum of 2/32", though replacing tires well before those minimums is always the smarter and safer choice. Worn tires lose wet traction, increase stopping distances, and are far more vulnerable to punctures and blowouts.

Inflation:

Tire pressure is one of the most critical and most neglected factors in commercial tire life and safety. Under-inflated tires run hot, wear on the shoulders, reduce fuel economy, and are far more likely to fail. Over-inflated tires wear in the center, reduce traction, and transmit more impact to the wheel and suspension. Check inflation before every trip and always inflate to the correct pressure for your load, not just the maximum sidewall pressure.

Daily Visual Inspection:

A walk-around tire inspection before every trip should be standard practice. Look for cuts, bulges, cracking in the sidewall, abnormal wear patterns, embedded objects, and any signs of slow leaks. Check the tire edges for wear caused by alignment issues or chronic under-inflation. Catching a problem in the lot is always better than finding out about it on the road.

Rotation Intervals:

Commercial tire rotation schedules vary based on your operation, but staying on a consistent rotation program is one of the simplest ways to maximize tire life and avoid premature replacement on a set of expensive commercial tires.

At Rolling Smoke Diesel Repair, we treat your tires as the critical safety components they are. Whether you need a full set of drives, a single steer replacement, a repair, or a full alignment and balance service, our team has the equipment and expertise to handle it correctly.
